This delightful animated story featuring two dogs in their first day at Pooch University helps them learn a lot more about their own kind. It’s an educational journey in which they ask questions and learn about all kinds of other dogs—from the biggest, the Great Dane, to the smallest, the Chihuahua.
It’s filled with all kinds of interesting tidbits—that Boxers can run up to 30 mph, that despite its name, the Great Dane does not hail from Denmark, and that hush puppies were invented for the express purpose of quieting the notoriously loud, bark of the Basset Hound. There’s one or two tidbits that are sure to make children giggle, including when Professor Fetch asks Mugs and Slobberstick, “What’s a friendly dog that snores a lot while farting?” (That would be a bulldog.)
All told, there are many things kids will learn about “man’s best friend.” Unless you’re a cat lover, there’s nothing objectionable to be found here and thus merits the Dove-Approved Seal for All Ages.
The Dove Take:
If kids are as eager to learn as Mugs and Slobberstick, they’ll enjoy a doggone good time with this movie.
