Lots of good ingredients to create an enjoyable movie night at home…a young insecure artist struggling to find her path, a father intent on his son taking over the family business, a snooty wedding planner played by When Calls the Heart star and Leo Awards nominee, Loretta Walsh, and a love almost derailed. A diverse cast in a movie for the entire family and Dove approved for all ages.
Wedding photographer Lindsey Morrison (Emily Tennant) is waiting for that big break to financially secure her future. When she is turned down and belittled by the most influential wedding planner in the country, Ms. Maxine Bower-Smythe (Loretta Walsh) she is crushed and begins to doubt her abilities. Getting on her list would be the ultimate measure for future success. With a heavy heart, Lindsey continues to make cold calls to potential prospects with no luck.
Her morning coffee run is humdrum until she meets Josh Taylor-Hall (Tyler Johnston) who is interested in presenting Lindsey’s work to his impetuous sister Hannah, whose wedding is less than a month away. Hannah (Kylee Bush) loves Lindsey’s work and hires her immediately on the understanding she will work closely with the wedding planner. No problem… until the snooty Ms. Bower-Smythe appears and immediately shows distain towards Lindsey. As the wedding plans proceed, Lindsey is the one who finds Hannah’s perfect wedding dress, much to Ms. Bower-Smythe’s chagrin, and she and Hannah are becoming friends.
As Lindsey and Josh share their innermost thoughts and individual dreams for the future, there is an unspoken understanding that is drawing them together but Josh’s intermittent girlfriend, Bronwyn Charles (Laura Mitchell) is the family favorite. When Josh and Bronwyn discuss their future, it’s clear there isn’t one, but Lindsey misinterprets what she sees and makes a rash decision that she later regrets.
The chain of events will hold your undivided attention, as you witness a pleasant twist when Hannah saves Josh from a future he does not want, and Lindsey reevaluates what’s important for a happy life.
The Dove Take:
Family dynamics can be a surprise and challenge at the best of times but choose to trust the well-meaning actions of those who love you unconditionally.
