This is one the entire family can enjoy. Buddy the dog has some amazing talents, including shooting baskets on a basketball court and catching footballs with his teeth. He is a Golden Receiver, not just a Golden Retriever! When his owner Josh takes up football, Buddy joins in and soon becomes known as Air Bud on the football field. The football coach, a good hearted man who is in danger of losing his job, sees his team begin to climb in the standings as a result of Air Bud and a renewed team spirit. Josh adjusts to football but a bigger adjustment is accepting the fact his mother is falling in love with Patrick, the local vet. Josh’s dad has died and it is difficult for him to move on.
The movie has some interesting characters and this is, I am pleased to say, a wholesome family film. We award this movie four doves and give it our Dove Seal for all family members.
