Disentangled is a story weaved into a musical of videos. It’s the story of an up-and-coming Nigerian singing group. But when one of the members finds out his wife has been involved in an automobile accident, leaving her in critical condition, it’s a challenge to everybody’s faith.
It’s a delicate situation because the woman’s mother doesn’t take bad news well. The least hint of despair can send her blood pressure surging off the charts, so those in the know try to keep it from her. Of course, keeping hold of secrets in the movies is like Ecclesiastes describes — “a grasping for the wind.” Inevitably, the mother catches wind that something is being kept from her.
That’s when things get really hairy, which might be as much as we can say without giving too much away. What we can safely say is that this movie is full of people encouraging one another with scripture and with song and is well worthy of Dove approval for all ages.
The Dove Take:
Lots of praise, stitched together with an improbable story, makes this an uplifting use of your time.
