Dove Review

On this episode of The Bob Hope Show, the cast of I Love Lucy performs a short for the audience, featuring Bob Hope as Ricky Ricardo.

Lucy takes her shot at the world of entertainment—but this opportunity involves seal training. Lucy sneaks the seal home and hides him in the closet before Ricky (Bob Hope) gets home. Ricky knows that something is up, because, well, his wife is always up to something, but when her friends Ethel and Fred show up in her house, all of Lucy’s secrets are exposed.

Fred discovers that Lucy has rented out their room for an old sea captain while Fred and Ethel were away on vacation, and as if on cue, the old sea captain storms into Lucy’s house and releases the seal.

As always, I Love Lucy brought laughs to the audience, but some mild sexual references aren’t appropriate for small children, awarding The Bob Hope Showing Featuring the Cast of I Love Lucy Dove-approval for Ages 12+.

The Dove Take:

The I Love Lucy cast brings loads of laugh—and a seal—to this episode of The Bob Hope Show.
