Dove Review

The Guardians is a teen film for the whole family that is full of fun moments and intrigue. Five teens share a singing talent and perform together on a regular basis — they are determined to enter the local talent contest and win, but trouble ensues. Their quirky science teacher Professor Walker (Ron Palillo) is a bumbling genius who has invested a device that enables people to become invisible, and when the self-centered teens get entangled in the machinations of a bad guy in town, Dr. Strangling (David Preuss), they learn that their goals should reach beyond themselves.

Through comical mishaps, they become tasked with saving the town from being manipulated and robbed by the devilish tasks of Strangling. By using Professor Walker’s latest invention, they don superhero suits, and set about to save the day.

While a man in slapped in the face twice in this film, it is mostly free from violence, and seeks to engage the viewer from a family friendly point of view. Trying to navigate their own needs while they prepare for the talent contest, the teens learn to work together for a great purpose and restore peace and sanity to their little town.
