Behind Her Faith is a series of episodes that invite the viewer in for a vulnerable snapshot of the lives of prominent Black female celebrities who confess that a relationship with God has strengthened them through the hardships of their youth and opened doors they could never have imagined as adults.
To date, there are four episodes that spotlight Essence Adkins (Cosby Show, Are We There Yet?), Niecy Nash (Claws, When They See Us), Angelica Nwandu (The Shade Room) and Aisha Hinds (9-1-1, Godzilla: King of Monsters). Each interview reveals a glimpse into the woman’s early life, her first encounter with God and how her relationship with Him has influenced her success—both in Hollywood and at home.
From how she got her first big break to what religious influences helped form her current faith, or surviving being shot as a teenager and losing a parent at a young age, each episode provides an encouraging word for viewers as the experiences each woman shares continue to point back to God and His incredible plan for her life.

Behind Her Faith is an engaging collection of vignettes that give the viewer and invitation to meet several Black celebrity women and learn along with them that although life is full of trials and tribulations, God is always faithful and He has a plan for each of us—often one we haven’t even considered yet! Because of the heavier nature of some of the content, this series is Dove-approved for ages 12 and older.
