Dove Review

**This review is contributed by Super Channel—a channel dedicated to providing integrity and accountability in today’s entertainment.

The on-screen chemistry between Chelsea (Vanessa Lengies) and Fisher (Evan Williams) is so believable and both are excellent performers. Mrs. Kringle (Morgan Fairchild) is as gracious as ever and provides a touch of magical fantasy!

Chelsea is excited about her great idea to add a holiday twist to the company’s dating app but her boyfriend Rod is not supportive and is trying to distract her. But when she checks the app and finds his profile on it, she is angry and lashes out calling him a selfish immature child. He says, “…well, maybe I can’t see just you….” It’s presentation day and Blythe, a workplace rival, presents Chelsea’s very idea as her own. Chelsea is devastated when her boss puts Blythe in charge of launching The Nice List app campaign.

Fisher, her next door neighbor and long-time friend, is really into Christmas and very supportive. But he reminds Chelsea that her demanding friend Keegan, her app idea being stolen, her boyfriend’s selfish behavior, and her pushover nature, is draining her and what does she have left to give? Chelsea is surprised by his comment… is that really true?

Mrs. Kringle (Morgan Fairchild) arrives at the studio as part of the app ad campaign and Chelsea pours her heart out to her. Mrs. K tells her about Santa’s “Nice List” and his “Naughty List” and for those on the naughty list, Santa sends a little life lesson to put them back on the nice list. Mrs. Kringle grants Chelsea magical powers through her app to “use wisely…”

As Chelsea continues to use her magic power to alter everyone’s personalities to what she thinks they should be, things get way out of hand, and she is completely crushed when she is scorned for her behavior and must come up with a way to get everyone, including herself, back on the Good List and appreciate the true love that was right there all the time.

The Dove Take:

Chelsea learns a hard lesson…when your friends don’t live up to your expectations, trying to change them to benefit yourself is not the answer as the best friendships are built on honesty and accepting your “perfectly imperfect” friends just as they are. A cute family-friendly movie and Dove approved for all ages, magic included!
