Dove Review

Guillermo and Will is the title of a ten-episode fun viewing experience for kids. The two main characters, Guillermo and Will, are animated worms who laugh a lot and who educate viewers in learning Spanish words. For example, they share that “carro” is the Spanish word for “car,” and “rojo” is the color red.

In the first episode they enjoy driving in a car under a beautiful sky. They say, “whoa!” a lot and they thank God for the beautiful world. They also teach the viewer the Spanish word for fast and slow.

In episode two the viewer will enjoy a peppy song about exploring God’s world. They go up and down a slide and Spanish words are taught to the viewer, such as down and up. For example, “arriba” is the Spanish word for “up.” They tend to repeat the words several times so young viewers can get the words down and learn them.

In episode three, the viewer is treated to space and underwater scenes. The Spanish word “colores” is used for “colors,” and appropriately various colors of crayons are cited as examples. Guillermo and Will thank God in a song for the rainbow.

In episode four, the two worms teach viewers how to say “hello” and “goodbye,” with “hola” and “adios.” We learn that “casa” is the Spanish word for “house” and they speak of “inside” and “outside” the house in their usual entertaining way. They sing a song about saying hello and goodbye. The theme song is also catchy.

In episode five the word “barco” is given as the Spanish equivalent of “boat.” And Guillermo and Will explore the surrounding area on a small boat with a leaf for the sail! They also teach the viewer the Spanish word for water. Humorously, the worms wear a captain’s hat and a pirate’s hat as they explore. In another funny moment they say, “God’s world…yay!”

In episode six, building blocks are the topic and young kids will undoubtedly enjoy this. The Spanish word for blocks, as well as other words like “small” are taught.

In episode seven, it’s into the stars and the two worms explore rocket ships and space. They exclaim excitement with “Wow!” and other similar words. The stars are a big theme in the episode. And they thank God, as in every episode, and here they are thankful for the beautiful stars. They also use the word “juntos” every so often for “together.”

Episode eight focuses on the word “bounce” and the viewer is taught the Spanish word for trampoline. We also learn the word “alto” and what bouncing high and higher can mean. Again, the two thank God because He is good.

In episode nine music is the main theme, and we truly understand the meaning of “amigo.” The worms also have a piano they make use of.

In the final episode, the worms discover an orange, which is huge to them. We learn the Spanish word for “orange,” which is “naranja.” They manage to successfully take a bite of it. We learn what “deliciosa” means!

This ten-episode series is wonderful, and the two worms are extremely happy all the way through it! It easily earns our Dove Seal for All Ages.
