Holiday disasters can occur when everyone is rushing to get that last-minute baking done, the food cooked, the gifts wrapped, and the clean-up done. Thanks to people like Megan, played by the lovely and talented Michell Argyris, who can swoop in and make the job look easy! Sit back, take some notes, and enjoy this fun and very Christmassy movie with your entire family!
A desperate call is made from a frantic mother whose daughter just invited 15 of her friends to a gingerbread decorating extravaganza at her house. Mom just burnt the cookies, and the kitchen is a mess! This is exactly the kind of atmosphere that Megan thrives in! She gets the job all done in record time and moves onward to the next calamity.
As busy as she is, Megan makes time to help her long-time friend, Jenny (Margarita Valderrama) with her charity event and no, she will not be bringing a date to the fundraiser. No time for that! But moments later, as she rushes out the door, she slams it in the handsome face of Chase (Connor McMahon) who doesn’t seem to mind getting hit by this beautiful woman!
Her talents lead her to Kurt (Travis Nelson), a desperate client that must get the shop decorated for an important pitch, and it has to be spectacular for a high-profile investor that will lead to opening more stores. Megan wants nothing to do with Kurt and his company after a mix-up with another consultant, but Kurt makes it clear, the fee is substantial and more to come if the expansion investment pitch is successful. As Kurt and Megan work together, the sarcasm flies, and the one-upmanship is turning into fun as they share personal dreams and wishes.
When the pitch does not go well, Megan and Kurt must work together to revise the plan and they are having more fun with each passing day. When the investor insists on steering Kurt away from his original plan, he compromises his passion and gives in. But when Megan insists there is another way, Kurt is annoyed, and they argue.
Chase offers Megan a golden opportunity to polish her profile and her blog, but when the image is not at all comfortable, and they part ways, Megan knows where her heart really lies but is it too late to ask for forgiveness? And can anyone save the charity that Jenny is so passionate about?
The Dove Take: Megan’s decorating strategy is that “Personality has no right answer as long as it comes from the heart.” Be yourself, show your true personality, and attract the very people to you that will lead to love and happiness of the heart. This movie is Dove approved for all ages.
