Dove Review

Joseph’s latest work campaign is set to financially secure his family while paying homage to his father and the National Association of Fire Fighters. On paper, this contract is an easy, ethical opportunity, but when it takes precedence over his family’s Easter weekend, tension builds.

Joseph must decide what’s more important – spending time on the lake with his family (especially his retired firefighter dad who’s battling cancer) or sealing his work deal. Choosing the former flushes his career hopes and dreams, but choosing the latter means his marriage is doomed.

The choice becomes clear once Joseph and his family introduce the kids to “Forty-Seven Days with Jesus,” a composition book Joseph’s dad used to write down the gospel story. As the Easter weekend progresses, the children become more and more inspired by Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, affirming that it’s time Joseph chooses what matters most: faith and family.

Forty-Seven Days with Jesus interweaves Joseph’s story with a musical adaptation of the life of Christ. Cutting between Joseph’s heavy decision and the ancient depiction of Jesus’ sacrifice, viewers understand how the gospel plays out in modern, everyday life.

This is a wonderful family-friendly film, perfect for all to enjoy as we celebrate the true meaning of Easter – redemption through Christ and Christ alone.

Forty-Seven Days with Jesus is Dove-approved for All Ages.
