Dove Review

Like Saving Private Ryan, this film is inspired by a true story. Also like Saving Private Ryan, this film is graphically violent. I guess that is the nature of war. This film encompasses so much about the war in the Pacific, how soldiers handle different aspects of war, the bigotry of the times, the romance and yes the brutality. Just like Saving Private Ryan, this film has wonderful messages about overcoming stereotypes, heroism, friendship, facing your own demons, and overcoming adversity. Even though Dove cannot award the Dove Edited Seal to this edited version, I still highly recommend this film. It was captivating and intense. Nicolas Cage gives a tremendous performance, as does Adam Beach.
