Frankie Muniz is a fun actor to watch. Even when he is up to no good, he has a likeable innocence about his nature. Just like his character in Malcolm in the Middle, Jason Shepherd is a quick thinking intelligent kid whom at first puts these qualities into getting out of things rather than into good honest hard work. This is what gets him into trouble. He lies all the time and now his parents don’t believe anything he says. Knowing that his dad doesn’t respect him, Jason goes to great lengths to prove to his dad that he wrote an English paper entitled Big Fat Liar. This is where all the fun begins and where Muniz excels as an actor. I really enjoyed this film especially because ultimately the theme of the film is that telling the truth is much better than lying. I’d be a Big Fat Liar if I didn’t say that kids and families would enjoy watching this film.
