Houseguest – Edited

Funnymen Sinbad and Phil Hartman team up in this comedy. Sinbad is Kevin Franklin, a get-rich-quick con man who escapes the mob by impersonating the long-lost friend of an upright businessman [Martman] - and moving in with his family! The wily con artist is struggling to find out who he's pretending to be...a wine expert, a golfer, or even a dentist. When the family starts to see through his act, and the mob cathces onto his scam, Kevin finds his escapade as a "houseguest" suddenly much more than he'd bargained for.

Dove Review

This is a funny movie-but it’s way too loooong! The antics and comedic lines could have been delivered in 90 minutes, from my perspective. I’ve rated this for 12+, because I don’t think very young children will grasp the concept of ‘con man’. Sinbad is a charmer and it is he who makes this entertaining, along with some funny lines and situations. I recommend this video if you’re in need of a good laugh. It’s a shame that Phil Hartman was murdered because he was a very talented comedic actor. His interaction with Sinbad made many of the scenes extremely funny.
