Spy Kids – Edited

Eat your heart out, James Bond – the Spy Kids have landed. Ten-year-old Carmen (Alexa Vega) and her younger brother Juni (Daryl Sabara) find themselves on a desperate search for their kidnapped parents, Ingrid and Gregorio Cortez (Carla Gugino and Antonio Banderas). To their surprise, the children learn their parents are internationally famous special agents. This fantasy adventure is a kaleidoscope of non-stop action, amazing special effects, clever robots that are literally "all thumbs" and mutant doubles developed from captured agents. Carmen and Juni’s journey includes driving a high-tech automobile off a cliff into the sea, then traveling underwater where they are trapped by evil Fegan Floop (Alan Cumming). Floop, a children’s television host and former spy himself, is capturing agents one by one and turning them into mutant monsters, a fate planned for his latest victims, Ingrid and Gregorio. SPY KIDS is like watching a virtual reality computer game, but also has something for the parents, making it a sure bet at the box office.

Dove Review

This movie was really great. It had all of the elements of a really good movie. The characters were developed and the actors did a really great job. I think the gadgets were the coolest part of the movie. They had a gadget for any disturbance that came their way. I would love it if they were real because I think that they would be really fun to play with. And the story line and plot were original and interesting. Two kids find out that their parents are international spies and they have to become spies themselves in order to save them. The special effects blew me away. Especially the part where the floor seems to fall out, but it’s really just a clear piece of glass. Everything about this movie was right, and it was really wholesome meeting all the requirements of a great Dove approved movie.
