Dove Review

1960 saw the Winter Olympics staged at Squaw Valley, California, and the men’s hockey team, with the famous sextet, defeated the Russians for Olympic Gold. They finished undefeated at 5-0. Carol Heiss won the gold for the U.S. Women’s Figure Skating team, and U.S. swimmers won eleven gold medals. The viewer sees these events as well as a clip of Arnold Palmer, the Ohio State NCAA championship basketball team, the Kentucky Derby, and the Pittsburgh Pirates defeating the New York Yankees in game seven of the World Series. This series of short videos make it obvious that 1960 was an outstanding year for America in the world of sports.
