1960 saw the Winter Olympics staged at Squaw Valley, California, and the men’s hockey team, with the famous sextet, defeated the Russians for Olympic Gold. They finished undefeated at 5-0. Carol Heiss won the gold for the U.S. Women’s Figure Skating team, and U.S. swimmers won eleven gold medals. The viewer sees these events as well as a clip of Arnold Palmer, the Ohio State NCAA championship basketball team, the Kentucky Derby, and the Pittsburgh Pirates defeating the New York Yankees in game seven of the World Series.
