Popsies
An engaging puppet video for infants, with simple and positive stories, bright colors, gentle pacing, and a rhythmic acoustic soundtrack performed on an Appalachian dulcimer. Created for the birth to 18 months audience, "Popsies" features hand puppets in eleven brief, behavorial episodes such as "Giving," "Love and Family," "Hide and Seek," and "Sharing." It is non-verbal stories told in action by hand puppets.
The Popsies were designed and performed by Lara MacLean, a professional puppeteer based in New York City, and veteran of The Jim Henson Company including Sesame Street. As implied by the production company name, Whole Cloth Productions, the puppets were designed and performed by Lara and sewn by Steve Weinrebe's wife Madeline; the music was composed by Steve and performed on the Appalachian dulcimer of his own making.
