Tara broke her back in a ballet accident, threatening her dreams of dancing forever. After being denied the opportunity to dance with Sydney, Australia’s company following her accident, she ventures to New York City to audition for new theater opportunities.
Eventually, she regains her point shoes and centerstage lights, but she discovers that dancing wasn’t the true dream—there was more to life than the costumes and applause. With the ups and downs of friendship, and twists and turns of life, Tara learns to slow down, take a breath, and look around at what’s most important.
While this film offers themes of forgiveness and friendship, there’s an underlying support of homosexuality that remains consistent, while a few sex scandals and jokes aren’t suitable for children and teens. With a lack of faith elements and strong integrity, Dance Academy—The Comeback isn’t Dove-approved.
The Dove Take
