Dove Review

This film is a jewel and should not be missed. “The Adventures of Grey Friar’s Bobby” chronicles the impact of a small terrier named Bobby on an Industrial Revolution era town in Scotland. With breath-taking cinematography, the film shows not just the harsh conditions facing the citizens of the town, but the glimmer of hope and change that begins to shine through with every hardship the town faces and conquers. While films starring animals can be hokey, you will find yourself drawn to these warm and realistic characters.

This film is recommended for children 12 and older due to its thematic elements. Child labor is a major topic discussed in this film and a sequence with possible ghosts could be scary for younger children. Older children will also be able to greater appreciate the struggles and triumphs in this can’t-miss-film.
