They'll love watching six-year-old Brock and 75 of his friends, ranging in age , say the words and learn proper pronunciation from Brock's mom, Julie, and his aunt, Krisse. By using repetitive teaching methods, bright colors, numerous examples of each word and engaging music, these DVDs equip children with essential building blocks for future language acquisition. Studies have shown that children love watching other children and learn from observing each other. Parents and teachers rave about how fun, easy and useful these DVDs are for all children!

Dove Review

This Dove-approved series is a fun way to introduce your children to Spanish. The series uses a lot of repetition and pictures to help children learn, as well as a few fun songs. For parents, the series has lots of cute children but the repetition can be wearing after a while. For this reason, I would suggest using it for the under six set because older children may find the repetition boring. In addition, the DVD offers you the option of playing the episode just once or for continuous play. However, each episode does not feature chapters, so you are unable to skip past the theme song easily or skip to a section that you would like to watch. In addition, a few of the episodes ran well past the approximate thirty minute film length printed on the DVD. Overall, this series was a fun way to learn some basic Spanish.

Basic Words This episode covers a few words that are easy for children to use with English like hello, water, car, milk, and some family words. There is no objectionable material in this episode.

Alphabets and Numbers This episode covers the Spanish alphabet as well as counting to twenty. The alphabet may confuse children who are learning their alphabet in English but the counting lesson would be good for children who are learning to count in English as well. There is no objectionable material in this episode.

Family This episode covers the Spanish terminology for families. No extended family terms such as step-mother/father or half-brother/sister are covered. There is some repetition of terminology from the “Basic Words” episode.

Food This episode covers the terminology for several different types of foods, as well as the phrase “I’m hungry.” There is some repetition of terminology from the first “Basic Words” episode. There is no objectionable material in this episode.

Colors and Shapes This episode covers the naming of many shapes and colors. There is no objectionable material in this episode.

Animals This episode covers the names of many animals, both domestic and wild. There is no objectionable material in this episode.

Basic Phrases The episode teaches children many common phrases they can use on a daily basis like “please” ,“thank you”, and “I like it.” There is some repetition from the “Foods” episode and there is no objectionable material in this episode.
