Dove Review

If you can somehow imagine a mixture of “Heidi”, “Grizzly Adams”, and “Little House on the Prairie”, you now have a handle on “Mountain Family Robinson”. The opening scene of children in bell-bottoms frolicking in a mountain meadow while surrounded by their animal friends gave me a good idea of what the movie would be like. The starring family was nearly perfect in their relationships with each other, but at one point, the mother did leave for the city for a while and wasn’t sure if she’d return. The family also had an unrealistic ability to gain the trust of a multitude of wild animals. It’s a bit corny, but children are sure to love seeing all those little critters! At one point, the entire family was taking a bath in a massive outdoor tub, but the only thing to be seen was their shoulders and upper chests. It isn’t considered nudity, but it was a little odd and worth mentioning at least. One thing that may be scary for very young viewers is when a bobcat “screams” while fighting with other animals. Overall, “Mountain Family Robinson” is a very clean, family-friendly movie that has earned Dove’s seal of approval.
