There are 205+ obscene comments in this film which amounts to just under 2 obscene words per minute. To be fair there are some minutes that do not have foul language, but then there are some scenes that have 5 or 10 in 10 seconds. Vince Vaughn is not funny in this documentary about 4 comics traveling the country. He is the emcee and introduces the acts, but we do get to see a sincere Vaughn throughout the film. The back story on each comic is the best part of the “Wild West Comedy Tour”. This is where you find out who they are, meet their parents and get a good feeling about what they are trying to accomplish. The “comedy” comes in little bites, much like the TV show “The Last Comic Standing” where you see a lot of behind the scenes and not much comedy on the stage.
I found “Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Tour” very dissapointing and quite vulvar and obscene. This is not a family film and certainly does not receive The Dove Seal. There are many superior comedies to see, all of which are much less vulgar.
