A. C. Gilbert, his wife and his brother Frank, make toys. Their toys finally take off so they open a factory to make more toys. They are very successful. War breaks out between the United States and Germany. The U.S. Secretary of state comes to “Hello Boys Toy Company” and asks them to stop making toys and to make wartime products. The gentlemen decide to turn their factory into a war time factory. They want the U.S. troops to have the best weapons to fight the war. Frank is drafted and sent to war. Frank is also reported as Missing in Action. The family is very disheartened. Then Christmas time approaches and the government decides to not have Christmas. A. C. Gilbert and his family go to Washington D.C. in an attempt to change the Congress and Senate’s mind. They take toys and wind up giving them to the government.
