Pride and Glory

Synopsis
Edward Norton and Colin Farrell star in “Pride and Glory,” an authentic, gritty and emotional portrait of the New York City Police Department. The film follows a multi-generational police family whose moral code is tested when one of two sons on the force investigates an incendiary case involving his older brother and brother-in-law. The case forces the family to choose between their loyalties to one another and their loyalties to the department.
Dove Review
When you think of a movie about a “police family” and “the force” of course you are going to think about the good guys and the bad guys. This is filled with the right ingredients for a cop movie, meaning violence, corruption, and even a little family background. At first you think the bad guys are after the good cops until you realize that it is one of their own (a corrupt cop) that they are gunning for. Edward Norton does a great job in his portrayal of the the detective that conducts the investigation. But the problem I have with this movie is that if the F-word was taken out of the English language there would not be much dialog left in the film. As you can see by my count below, there are at least 2 for every minute of the movie. Due to the violence and language this film cannot be awarded our Dove Seal as a family-friendly film.
