The Dark ages of Britain were fought to defend the country from barbarians and to protect their belief in God. This is a powerful story of one young man’s journey to continue to fight the battle. It is a battle that his father was called upon by God to conduct. When his father and family are murdered by the invading Saxons, Artos continues the quest and looks for the answers in his faith.
There are several Christian references in the film, including a comment about following Christ and that he came to earth with a mission and a purpose. A scripture is quoted that God’s mercies are new every morning. Prayer is offered up for a battle about to be fought. There are several battle scenes shown one right after another, so the viewers are subjected to many fighting scenes that includes swords, axes and weapons of the Dark Ages. Although the battles rage on and people are murdered, the scenes are not very graphic. There is practically no blood. Many scenes of violence cut away before anything graphic is shown, and in some cases arrows strike but no blood is seen. This movie does encourage faith and we award this film our Dove Seal.
