Suddenly, Mary’s wealthy and estranged mother Isabella (Jacqueline Bisset) has come to visit. Although she finds a kindred spirit in Mary’s eldest daughter and budding writer Tilly (Tatiana Maslany), Mary resents her mother’s attempts to help them out of their financial difficulties. Dove Review
This is a story set in the 1800s about a difference between generations. A young girl’s letter to a grandmother she has never met, brings the woman to see her daughter and her family after years of separation. It is a story of disagreement, forgiveness and discovery. This is an original movie from Hallmark with the emotional storyline that shows a family in trouble reuniting with missing family members who can help. It’s a sort of “happily ever after” story.
Dove awards the Dove “Family-Approved” Seal to this DVD, “An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving”.
