Synopsis

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer brings his first 3-D film to the big screen with “G-Force,” a comedy adventure about the latest evolution of a covert government program to train animals to work in espionage. Armed with the latest high-tech spy equipment, these highly trained guinea pigs discover that the fate of the world is in their paws. Tapped for the G-Force are guinea pigs Darwin (voice of Sam Rockwell), the squad leader determined to succeed at all costs; Blaster (voice of Tracy Morgan), an outrageous weapons expert with tons of attitude and a love for all things extreme; and Juarez (voice of Penelope Cruz), a sexy martial arts pro; plus the literal fly-on-the-wall reconnaissance expert, Mooch, and a star-nosed mole, Speckles (voice of Nicolas Cage), the computer and information specialist.

Dove Review

This movie is safe and cute. It is a film which is suitable for all ages. When it appears that Saber Technology has possibly sold some technological information to the Middle East, guinea pig agents Darwin and Blaster and female agent Juarez and the rest of the gang become secret agents to spy out the situation and to learn the truth. Danger lurks around every corner as they work undercover in espionage and are aided by Speckles (voice of Nicholas Cage).

The 3-D experience is excellent and several people at the early screening I attended seemed to enjoy the effects. The 3-D effects enhances this particular story. There are some nice themes in the movie, including a character who is on the wrong side who realizes it and joins the good guys. Also, there is the theme that great accomplishments can be achieved by those considered too small or not up to the task. The topic of adoption is a theme in the film and some people will find how it is handled to be good in spots, possibly not-so-good in other spots.

This film will be enjoyed particularly by those ten and under and we are happy to award the G-Force our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal. The characters will dazzle your kids!
