Some may remember a movie in the 1960s about a boy that turned in to a dog–well, this is the same type of story. Tim wants a dog for Christmas but his parents say no because they don’t believe he is responsible enough to take care of one and then there is the cost of raising a dog. But when Tim meets the Professor he tells of the legend of the magic in the star. Tim believes with all his heart that his wish is going to come true.

The wish comes true but not in the way Tim had hoped. He now is a dog, which takes him on an adventure into a dog’s life with its ups and downs. He must find the Professor to help him become a boy again.
