No matter how many Flicka movies they make they are always enjoyable. This adventure takes place on a ranch in Montana with Carrie, a young girl who has lost her mother in an accident and now her grandmother to Alzheimer’s. Carrie is now with her father, Hank, who has not seen her since she was a baby. There is a transition for each of them including her move from the big city of Pittsburgh and his is that he now must be responsible for a teenage daughter.
As in all Flicka movies there is a connection between this beautiful horse and one of the characters. The relationship between Flicka and Carrie begins when the horse saves her from a rattlesnake in the barn. They both have high-spirits and yearn to be free, which causes problems for both the horse and the girl. Hank in the meantime attempts to be a father to Carrie and makes rules which have to be followed or he lets it be known there will be consequences. Here is a wonderful wholesome movie that is entertaining for the entire family. We proudly award this film the Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for all ages. “Flicka” is a rollicking good time and a moving story about a girl and her horse. Inspiring!
