Dove Review

This is a charming story about “doing the right thing.” Danny is a lonely child in a foster home and he feels no one wants him but when he discovers Teddy, The President’s dog, or should I say Teddy finds Danny, the adventure begins. Through the help of strangers, some good and some bad, which they meet along the cross country trip, Danny discovers many things about himself and his friendship with Teddy.

While this is a cute and wonderful family movie that all can enjoy, we must teach our children that it is not right to run away from home even if it is to do the right thing. The movie is filled with lessons about self worth, believing in others and listening to children, “First Dog” is truly entertaining and a fun movie. Everyone in the family can view this film but there is some content that may frighten younger children. See content chart. We award the Dove Family-Approved” 12+ Seal to this movie.
