“Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” had a lot of potential. It has some very comical actors and actresses but the filmmaker’s sense of humor is twisted. The story’s about a twenty-two year old who falls in love with Ramona, and these two opposites are somehow attracted to one another. The whole story is about Scott, played by “Michael Cerra”, defeating Ramona’s evil ex relationships. The story goes in many directions and doesn’t have too many slowdowns. The movie contains a massive amount of swearing and what could only be labeled “junk” within it. Two guys kiss, there are several sexual jokes throughout the movie which is not something, as a parent, I want kids to be exposed to.
The movie does have a few comical parts, for example when Scott spills hot cocoa all over himself and when he defeats one of Ramona’s ex relationships and he receives coins for being the victor. But overall the excess this movie has is just too much to be awarded the “Dove “Family Approved” Seal.
