In the hard times of Canada, much like the Depression in the USA, families had to do everything they could to take care of themselves. In this era the government did not help so families had to survive with whatever they had or could do for almost nothing. Their pride would not allow them to receive any type of charity or hand-outs so everyone in the family tried to help out. When Booky takes a job at her aunt’s store, she meets an extraordinary man that has a secret that will help her make this Christmas special.
Booky teaches many lessons about being kind, helping others and about pride. Although this is a charming story for the family, we must warn that there is some minor language that may be offensive to some people. We award this film with the Dove “Family-Approved” 12+ Seal.
