Dove Review

This sci-fi tale examines the ideas that time and space can be manipulated. A young boy named Peter seems to have the ability to shift both his reality and that of those around him. As he searches for his godmother, he travels the world without leaving the Catholic school that is his home. However, his journeys leave a little piece of himself in each location weakening him to the point of near death.

This is less a spiritual or faith journey and more science fiction or fantasy. Indeed, Peter finds out in the end that he should be mindful of his present place and circumstances. To quote the film, “No matter how far you go, how much time you have, or what you leave behind, you remain who you are because the truth never changes.” Dove is able to award our “Family-Approved” Seal for ages 12 and over due to the complex themes that would leave little ones out of the loop.
