Dove Review

2011 Crystal Dove Seal Award Winner for Best Documentary – “African Cats” takes you on a journey into the wild yet wonderful life of two families. While at times this movie shows the struggles faced by these amazing animals, it also shows the compassion of a mother’s love and her attempts to raise her young family in the midst of their turbulent surroundings. Disney does a wonderful job of showing their struggles including the thrill of the hunt. However, this is done in ways that should not frighten little ones. Many times do we see the chase and catch but not the actual kill as these ferocious cats catch their dinner.

With beautiful cinematography and moving narration, this film is a sure bet to entertain family members of all ages. Dove is pleased to award “African Cats” our “Family-Approved” Seal for all ages.
