What a terrific and simplistic Bible message this DVD sends! Those who celebrate Christmas need to keep Christ as the focus and this inspirational DVD shows how it’s done with concrete examples, including a choir preparing for a service, a family praying over their dinner and a group of thankful ladies sharing cheesecake. The story features a grandfather remembering Belgium in December, 1944 and World War ll. A soldier and his friends face the horrors of war and a certain soldier becomes lost. When a telegram arrives for a woman named Florence at the church, saying that the woman’s son is missing in action, the prayer goes up as the tears flow. His younger sister, Suzie, is not sure she is ready to accept Christ but when a certain event happens near the end of the film, she is ready to take the plunge. In one scene a very nice close-up of a wonderful painting of Christ is seen.
Some wonderful Christmas songs and hymns are included in this DVD including “Silent Night”, “Oh come all ye Faithful” and “Amazing Grace.” Without giving specifics away, the story has a happy ending and the sincerity in which this DVD was made shows in a very clear way. A scripture about no one knowing exactly when Christ will return is placed on screen and then a noise is heard outside and a woman asks, “What’s that noise?” Could it be the Lord returning? The movie ends with a very nice song called “Do you know the Christ of Christmas?” We recommend this wonderful DVD for all ages and are pleased to award it our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal.
