Gift of the Magi

With the holidays just around the corner, financially challenged newlyweds Jim and Della Young struggle to get each other the perfect gift. Della gets a secret second job to make some extra cash and Jim considers selling his prized possession. But when a series of misunderstandings tear the couple apart, some good friends and the overwhelming spirit of the season remind them of the most precious present of all -- their love for each other. Marla Sokoloff ("The Practice") and Mark Webber (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) star in The Gift of the Magi, a charming, modern-day retelling of the Christmas story beloved by generations.

Della and Jim both make sacrifices in order to buy the perfect Christmas present for each other. But when Della takes a second job to make enough money to buy Jim a present, she decides to lie to him about where she is spending her time. Even the best intended lies can bring about some fairly bad results. That is the case with Della and Jim. Deceit has no place in a marriage but when you admit to the truth, the misunderstandings can be corrected.

“The Gift of the Magi” is a cute retelling of a classic tale. We are pleased to award this delightful story our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for ages 12 and over.
