Dove Review
This film centers on a young girl named Whitney who moves with her parents back to the family farm when her father loses his job. Whitney goes from being the most popular girl in school to feeling shunned, like she’s nobody. She has to learn what really matters in life. She learns that life is about family, not popularity. When she befriends a stray horse, she develops a bond with the animal that eventually helps her reconcile her family’s strained relationships.
The sequences with “Bob” the horse are extremely funny and heartwarming. The story has positive elements such as forgiveness and the need to change. Today’s girls need positive role models to emulate and the reformed Whitney would make a good pattern to learn from. We are pleased to award this fun family adventure our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for ages 12 and over.
