Conan the Barbarian
The most legendary Barbarian of all time is back this summer. Having thrived and evolved for eight consecutive decades in the public imagination- in prose and graphics, on the big screen and small, in games and properties of all kinds- Conan’s exploits in the Hyborian Age now come alive like never before in a colossal 3D action-adventure film.
A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.
Wow, I am glad that I did not see this film in 3D. I have never seen this amount of blood squirting and spurting in any other movie I have ever reviewed. Conan has been brought to 21st century film-making in a graphic and grotesque way. The violence and sexuality are completely over the top in this updated version of the Sumerian born Barbarian, Conan.
The action is non-stop which kept the pace intense. The story is simple, revenge for the death of his parents. The love story is short and the comedic moments are brief as well. Conan certainly earned its ‘R’ rating for the reasons I have listed in our Content Description section. That said, Dove cannot approve this movie for the family.
