Dove Review

This Dove-approved DVD will keep your attention as the action and goings-on in the small town of Mahoney, Texas, are non-stop.

The story begins with aspiring journalist, John Miller, attempting to land a job at the prestigious American, a newspaper among newspapers. Mr. Stuart, the editor-in-chief, isn’t interested until John tells him he can get the inside scoop on “Mr. Billionaire”, Frank Gleason, a wealthy man who just lost both himself and many investors a substantial amount money. He is accused of fraud. The one problem is that Frank Gleason is also John Miller’s father, and John will have to betray his father to get the story he wants.

When John travels to Mahoney and takes his father along, they see relatives and friends they haven’t seen in a long time, including John’s mother, Frank’s ex-wife. Are there still sparks there? What about John’s ex-flame, Natalie, who has taken up with a relative, Clark? John meets a new gal named Lucy and soon realizes he has a decision to make. The plot thickens as John learns his bitterness toward his father may be a bit unwarranted. He learns the truth in Mahoney about his past and then must decide where he goes from there.

This story has drama, romance, and some action including a duel! The themes include forgiveness and reconciliation as well as doing one’s best to live a simple life. We gladly award the DVD our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for ages twelve plus. If you want to see what happens at “high noon” you will have to check out the DVD, Partner.
