Dove Review

Kids can learn more about the world in which they live simply by watching this big-scope film, a DVD which will fling kids to various corners of the world to see boys and girls dance in their native lands and practice rituals which are a central part of their lives.

They will see Bali girls dance and various scenes of Indonesia. A man who disappears every so often is the main guide, who also leads them to the Czech Republic and the viewer will see young boys dancing as well. Girls beat drums and it’s noted that the Aztecs play music and dance to please their gods. We also see a magic string. In another example of the diversity a young talented guitarist plays rock and roll music. In one scene some kids rub the belly of a statue of Buddha. On the Caribbean Islands a young boy plays a “love drum”. And the filmmakers also visit the Aboriginals.

The focus of the DVD is obvious as one boy near the end of the program says, “The world is so awesome.” Kids can learn what other cultures do and believe simply by watching this DVD. We award our Dove Seal this fun and musical DVD. Let it take you away to other worlds for a time!
