Conserving America: The Challenge of the Coast
The U.S. has enough coastline to wrap around the world more than 3 ½ times. The Challenge on The Coast creates a new understanding of this natural environment which, through tides and erosion, winds and storms, over-development and pollution, is always changing. Here are the stories of dedicated individuals taking the initiative to protect and restore America's coastal areas, including an eighth-generation fisherwoman from Stump Island, NC, and the California Marine Mammal Center, which helps save marine wildlife affected by people's abuse of the ocean.
