Dove Review

A fresh start is needed by Caroline Giblin and her teen daughter Jordy after a messy and hurtful divorce. Just before Christmas, they head cross country from bustling California to small town Mayville on the other side of the continent! Jordy is skeptical and apprehensive about leaving her friends, familiar settings and all things urban- especially the mall, to move back to where her mother grew up many years prior. The return to Mayville is complicated by the presence of Clay Traynor, Caroline’s one-time fiancé.

Jordy is especially intrigued by the thought of Clay living nearby and pushes her mother for more information about her relationship with him – especially when Caroline discloses she left Clay standing at the altar – leaving town and breaking his heart with no explanation.

Paths intersect for Clay and Caroline as she discovers William, a young runaway boy and his dog, squatting in the basement of her grandmother’s former home. Bleeding heart Caroline wants him to stay. Stubborn and a man who follows the rules, Clay is reluctant. Secretly contacting Social Services he thwarts Caroline’s desire to help William and the two plunge into bickering and a disagreement threatening the dream Caroline has to make a difference for the little ruffian in the basement.

This is a beautiful story of resilience, love and determination in the face of past hurts. Commitment and hope spring eternal. Families of all ages will find “A Holiday to Remember” a touching tale of Christmas joy and tenderness! We are happy to approve this wonderful film for viewers of all ages.
