Well-cast, great aerial establishing shots, and a strong script will keep you glued to the screen as a complicated relationship between two best friends trying to help each other find romance, discover a little more than they both bargained for… a sweet sentimental love story that will entertain the entire family and is Dove approved for all ages.
Becks (Sarah Smyth) desperately wants her own romance column and when her editor tells her she has to “dazzle” him with her next submission, she is up for it! She and her best friend Casey (Andrew Dunbar) discuss finding that special someone for each other but agree that they should focus on Casey first.
When Casey’s on-air proposal goes awry, Becks jumps in to offer her sympathy and decides to take him on as a “project” and they are off to their hometown so Casey can rekindle his romance with Samantha (Nikki Chohan), his high school sweetheart. This is Beck’s big chance to wow her editor with a dazzling romantic story of going after your first love! What could go wrong?
When Becks meets Casey’s charming cousin, Ethan (Matthew Kevin Anderson) he sweeps her off her feet! Casey feels he is making headway with Samantha. Love is happening! But when Casey catches Becks and Ethan about to kiss, he quickly interrupts and is obviously shaken. His mom wisely tells him Becks’ romantic life is none of his business and shouldn’t he be concentrating on Samantha?
As both romances continue, Casey and Becks are seeing each other in a very different light. How will Casey react when he discovers Samantha is not who she appears to be, and will Ethan understand Becks’ feelings? And will Becks’ revealing story get her the promotion she so desperately wants?
The Dove Take:
Love is not the fantasy we elaborately create in our minds, but is the magic that’s been there all along if only we are mindful enough to recognize it.
