This is a wonderful DVD which shows the positive side of being a missionary. It also shows that it isn’t always easy but is rewarding. This DVD would be a good tool for churches to use, churches which hope to inspire future missionaries to answer the call.
Brad and Deborah Wells are missionaries to New Guinea, Mt. Hagen, which we are informed is actually not a mountain but more akin to a valley and is actually twelve miles from a mountain. However, the Wells serve a local church there and love the people. They raise seven children and we see how each child is unique in personality and how that each one contributes to the missionary effort.
The viewer will know the people of New Guinea better after seeing this documentary and how the Wells put their hearts and passion into the local work. We learn that Brad’s father and mother were missionaries and so is a brother. It seems to run in the family. Brad drives down some muddy pot-hole-filled roads and encounters a man on the road who demands money or threatens to throw stones at his vehicle. But the focus is on the people and the changed lives and Brad states he is doing what he loves and wouldn’t change it for anything. We are pleased to award this family-friendly DVD our Dove Seal for all ages. It might be a bit intense for the very young in a few scenes, but most kids should enjoy it as it focuses on the kids as well as the adults. Check this one out soon!
