Unexpected Places

Cody is a troubled son who continues making bad choices into adult life. Watching his descent causes his mother Pam almost unbearable grief. Mother and son hit bottom together. Cody struggles with addiction and crime while Pam is affected in all the relationships in her life including her marriage and her work. Her faith is shaken and she feels more alone than ever. She is hanging on by a thread, thanks in part to the support from her prayer group.

There is an amazing journey for mother and son concluding with God intervening and opening both their eyes to redemption and restoration. This film will speak powerfully to parents or anyone agonizing over their loved ones making poor decisions. This story, loosely based on true life events demonstrates miraculously that what is impossible for man is possible for God.

Dove Review

This is a story of redemption! Cody was taken away first by his father and later by his mother back to Michigan. His troubled life stems from the lack of both parents in his home. Whenever he got to be a bit much, Cody’s mother would ship him off to military school, camp, and back to his dad. As an adult he uses drugs. His mother has remarried and in this case to a good Christian man. Cody steals and does what he can to get drugs but his step-dad lets him live with his mother and him.

Cody winds up in the Livingston County Jail and in the midst of guys who have a Bible study. Cody winds up living free in jail. This is a powerful redemption story and shows that despite his former use of drugs Cody becomes a new man in Christ. We are pleased to award this DVD our Faith Based Seal since it has some sophisticated content. This might be a good tool for a church or youth group.
