This sweet movie tells a slow-burning love story that will pull you right in as you watch the onscreen credible dynamics between the charming Jessica Lowndes and charismatic Chad Michael Murray. Based on the novel, The Tycoon’s Kiss, by Jane Porter, a best-selling and award-winning author who writes women’s fiction and romantic love stories with happy endings, this movie that will appeal to all generations and is Dove-approved for all ages.
Taylor Harris (Jessica Lowndes) loves her dream research job and everyone is happy with her work, but when the funding for the library is cut, she is jobless. Her brother Craig Harris (Dennis Andres) suggests a change of pace from the big city and she can stay with them, in small town Forest Ridge, Montana, where Craig manages the historic 100-year-old Graff Hotel. When her car hits the ditch, she is rescued by none other than the handsome Joel Sheenan (Chad Michael Murray). As tiny sparks fly, he suggests they should get together later…
The Graff Hotel has recently been sold, and the developers are circling. The hotel will be renovated into a luxury tourist attraction and the town hall meeting is tomorrow night. Joel is back in his hometown to escalate the process on behalf of his company and is the guest speaker. His dad, Michael Sheenan (Kent Sheridan) warns him… you show up periodically, then announce you are turning one of the oldest historic properties into a fancy “resort”… the citizens will be speaking up.
Taylor is dismayed as she listens to Joel speak at the town hall meeting about stepping into the 21st century and the renos would be good for the town. She quickly points out the 100-year-old hotel is eligible for a landmark status. Credentials are, there must be proof that a significant historical event occurred involving the building. What better assignment for a hot shot researcher like Taylor? Taylor gives Joel the cold shoulder and makes it clear she will do everything possible to stop the renovations placing him under heavy pressure to complete the plans for his company.
As Taylor and Joel spend time together, there is an unstoppable attraction happening, but loyalty to different causes, both just as passion-driven, keeps pulling them apart. Can Taylor find what she is looking for in time to save the Graff, and how will Joel deal with realizing his heart is falling for the very person who can upset his plan? A twist at the end brings out the best in everyone.
