Fame High

Fame High

From the tentative first day of school to the amazing year-end performances, FAME HIGH captures the in-class and at-home drama, competition, heartbreak, and triumph during one school year at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA). This is where talented teens reach for their dreams of becoming actors, singers, dancers, and musicians.

In a time when performance-based entertainment is commonplace, it is safe to call FAME HIGH the facts behind the fiction. Overnight success is a myth, and the true reality is nothing trumps endless hours of hard work.

Shot over the course of sixteen months, we see these young people strive, struggle, grow, and change before our eyes.

Dove Review

This movie demonstrates reaching one’s goals but shooting for one’s dreams in a vivid manner. The Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) holds artistic competitions and features Zak, Rudy, Brittany and Grace. They compete in categories including jazz, theater, music, and dance.

The film features the disappointments, the pressure of some parents, and how these young adults accomplished what they did. One parent tells their daughter, Grace, if she doesn’t get into Julliard she can forget a career as a dancer which demonstrates the expectations placed on the kids to excel or to possibly forfeit their dreams. Amazingly, the alumni include Josh Groban, Fergie, Corbin Bleu, and Jenna Elfman.

This is an inspiring DVD which chronicles the happy endings for many of these kids. We are pleased to award the Dove “Family-Approved” Seal to this DVD for ages twelve plus. This one will both challenge and inspire you to live your dream!
