The kids are the heroes in this movie! They work side by side with the adults. The kids are forced into a cataclysmic moment when three astronauts are running out of oxygen in the International Space Station and the kids, led by young Jimmy (Thomas Horn), come up with the best solution to save them.
This terrific film features several themes including cheaters never prosper, teamwork is necessary, and we have to take responsibility for our decisions.
Several kids meet up at Space Camp with a chance to enter a competition where the winning team takes a trip to the International Space Station. Unfortunately, one girl fudged her age in order to be able to attend and a boy told his single mom and his dad that he was staying with the other parent while he was in fact attending the Space Camp. One kid cheats during the last major competition between the Titans and the Warriors but the kids are held accountable for each of these situations, under the guidance of Col. Roy Manley, played by Josh Lucas who turns in a fine performance as does Danny Glover as a commander. The point is nicely illustrated that there are consequences for behavior but everyone deserves another chance to do better.
This movie builds toward a suspenseful climax and we are more than happy to award it our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for all ages and five Doves, our best rating. You don’t have to travel to the moon to enjoy these Space Warriors on DVD.
