Dove Review

“Season of Miracles” hits a homerun and grandly shows that miracles can still happen. It is 1974 and a Little League team in Alabama, the Robins, is an underdog. An autistic young man named Rafer is the ‘Babe Ruth’ of Little League. He is a special needs boy that is called a “retard” by ignorant kids but he is embraced by the Robins as he provides both hope and inspiration to them. He is the team’s best hitter.

John Schneider is terrific as the coach of the team and he encourages the boys that, if they show heart, anything is possible. Nancy Stafford also appears as Nurse Barbara. The movie features various dramatic themes including the boys attending church and learning about God and a young player’s dad is missing in action in the military.

By the story’s end the team needs a miracle and they learn that when one is most needed, it is then that the greatest ones can happen. We are pleased to award this film our Dove “Faith-Friendly” Seal for all ages. This movie inspires the viewer to believe!
