Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2

After the disastrous food storm in the first film, Flint and his friends are forced to leave the town. Flint accepts the invitation from his idol Chester V to join The Live Corp Company, which has been tasked to clean the island, and where the best inventors in the world create technologies for the betterment of mankind. When Flint discovers that his machine still operates and now creates mutant food beasts like living pickles, hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees and apple pie-thons, he and his friends must return to save the world.

Dove Review

This delightful movie will be a hit with everyone in the family! It has plenty of cuteness for the kids along with some terrific characters and funny lines for the adults. The great characters not only include Flint Lockwood (voiced by Bill Hader) but Berry the strawberry, Samantha (Anna Faris), Flint’s dad and Chester V as well as many others. Who wouldn’t appreciate the humor of the line “How do you make a gorilla stew? You keep him waiting for two hours.” The various living characters are filled with imagination such as the piece of cake and bananas. The cheese spiders are interesting too. The colors are vivid, the imagination of the movie is out of this world, and the characters are full blown and funny.

Flint wants to be a “thinkquanaut”, a great inventor, and is given an assignment by his idol, Chester V. However, he soon learns there are some underlying factors involved in his assignment he wasn’t aware of, and he has to ultimately put his life on the line to save his friends. The themes of this movie include friendship and loyalty and believing in one’s dream. We are happy to put a sunny spin on this “cloudy” movie and to award it our Dove Seal for all ages, not to mention five doves, our best rating. Go see “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” and brighten your day!
